Incredible Journey with Agile Offroad: A Deaf Traveler’s Perspective

A few weeks ago, my daughter and I embarked on a road trip from Florida to California to visit Agile Offroad. Our goal was to transform my stock sprinter van into an off-road masterpiece, as Agile Offroad came highly recommended. Before the trip, I had only connected with Agile Offroad through phone and video calls, and their support was phenomenal. When I shared my passion for Deaf Roamer, focusing on inclusivity in the vanlife community and the great outdoors, they were captivated.

As a deaf/hard-of-hearing individual, I was initially apprehensive about the experience, fearing communication difficulties. However, upon arrival, my apprehensions vanished. The team welcomed us wearing custom-designed Agile t-shirts featuring sign language, a thoughtful gesture that instantly put me at ease. They gave us a comprehensive tour and introduced us to the entire team, making me feel valued.

Throughout the visit, the staff patiently explained the van upgrades, answering all my questions without any impatience. Their genuine engagement left a profound impact on me. I was also impressed by Agile Offroad’s dedication to serving the deaf and hard of hearing communities. They learned and practiced answering deaf relay calls, ensuring they can assist with such calls in the future.

I’m excited to introduce Agile Offroad to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities and share my experiences. With Deaf Roamer teaming up with Agile Offroad, our goal is to make vanlife and the outdoors accessible for everyone. This journey is just beginning, and I look forward to many more adventures as we work towards inclusivity and accessibility.

Thank you, Agile Offroad!
